St Davids

Site Significance: 1

This ancient centre of Christianity is where St David lived in the 6th century. The cathedral contains a shrine of St David as well as St Caradoc, both of which survived the Reformation. It is said that during the medieval period, "two pilgrimages to St David's were equivalent to one pilgrimage to Rome", such was its importance. Be sure to also visit St Non's holy well and chapel, which is situated a mile outside of the town towards the south (near the sea).
